Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is an American anchor for a television newscast and a commentator for NBC News based in Washington D.C. After growing up in New York City, Mitchell obtained a bachelor's degree in English literature at The University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell was hired as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in the year 1967. She became a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP), in Washington DC. A few years later, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. In 1981, she began covering for the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the Chief Correspondent to Congress. Mitchell was appointed Chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as a panelist at the TV show Meet the Press. She was on the panel in the presidential debates in 1988 with George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell was married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awarded Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on for the White House first for NBC News between the years 1981-88, which was between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy issues, such as the arms control, budget taxes as well as the Iran Contra scandal.
