Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 by Decca Records. It has received a lot of praise from blogs and the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers the artist has done. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. It earned her some attention. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being amazed by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than to earn a living or to pursue an interest. In order to do so, she began writing original compositions. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as being her influences. In response to her mother's suggestions that people should not be aiming to become famous with the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them and their impact on society. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. To her music, is the best means of communicating anything.
